Family Reading

Posted by on Dec 4, 2011

In my last post, I wrote about my plans for reading the Bible this year.  My kids aren’t quite old enough to read through the entire Bible with, but I do have a plan to overview the Bible with kids or new Christians of any age in just 30 days.  This reading plan comes from Zondervan and gives a really good overview of God’s plan of redemption from Genesis through Revelation, reading just a few short verses each day.  I really think this is perfect for families to use to begin a diciplined time of family devotion.   Even if the family reads the passages separately, they are short enough that they can be discussed over dinner each night.

I’m always concerned with whether or not kids really understand God’s redemption story, that they “really get it ALL.”  I know that other parents share this same concern.  While this reading plan isn’t a magic pill, it will surely take you and your family a step closer to a fuller understanding of God’s will for your life and for all of humanity.
